Radars however are showing heavy precipitation developing off the New Jersey and pivoting northwestward.

HRRR  SNOW FORECAST OVERNIGHT

Snow Tonight Shifts East NYC Long Island Connecticut

Once the upper air system to the west reaches the coast, the heavier snows will shift eastward to areas from NYC eastward. To the north and northwest there has been the well advertised sharp cut off and you don’t have to go far north into the Hudson Valley to find very little snow. Some of that will be made up overnight but the heaviest snows will be south near the coast of Connecticut & Long Island back to NYC and up and down the Eastern half of New Jersey with snow tapering off somewhat as you head toward the Pennsylvania state line.

It will snow for most of the night and it could still be snowing tomorrow morning on Long Island and Connecticut until about 7am. Weather conditions will improve on Thursday with sunshine and clouds with highs in the 40s. Dry chilly air will be with us Friday and the weekend. Some warmer air should arrive later next week to melt all this away.
