Snow Ice Threat Monday
With regards to the snow and ice threat for Monday I think what is truly amazing to me is how quickly temperatures are going to rise on Monday and be in the 40s along the coast by Monday night. I know many of you are going to say that models don’t handle arctic air correctly and they usually don’t. But I believe there is little to keep this in place even in the best of conditions. The best chances for this will be well inland. This is my early call snowfall forecast map.

I think the best chance of icing will be north and west of I-95 where cold air should hold on much longer. The NAM model rushes snow in Monday morning for most of the area and if that happens we could get a burst of snow ahead of the warmer air. This would require a raising of amounts obviously. But for now I’m going with this. This forecast is based on last night’s model runs. I will be updating this later today.
