Snow Forecasts Thursday December 29
The first snow forecast maps from the National Weather Service are up. My forecast map will be up shortly in a separate post. As of right now based on model guidance it would appear that inland areas will be favored with this. Weather models overnight were deeper especially the NAM and European which appear to be in lock step here for the last 4 runs or so. That either means they will be right together or wrong together. The structure and strength of the upper air system will be key here. Cold air is marginal at the coast but inland it might be a different story as it translates from the top of the atmosphere downward. Be sure you check the time stamp to make sure you have the latest forecast for the correct time frame. More than likely we will see Winter Storm Watches go up for interior New England assuming the same trends continue. For ski areas in New England, they will do very well with this.
