I haven’t made any changes to the forecast this afternoon. Weather models have been relatively consistent today. I don’t think this is going to be a big deal as most of the accumulations will probably occur on grassy and colder surfaces and I’m thinking that roads will be fine for the most part. This is a minor event and I don’t see signs of any surprise possibilities at the moment.

Weather across the area this evening is pretty nice actually after reaching the 60s for highs. Skies should be clear tonight for the most part as we head down into the upper 30s and lower 40s for lows. Thursday will be not as warm as today but still springlike with some sunshine and arriving late day clouds with highs in the low to mid 50s. Then clouds will thicken as we watch a cold front with a wave and a developing east west band of precipitation. There might be some rain in the mix as it gets underway after midnight and it should be done by noontime on Friday.

Colder air follows for Friday night and into early next week but it will be dry through the daytime Monday with sunshine each day but highs will only just be into the 30s in most places and nighttime lows will be in the teens to lower 20s. Weather models continue to key on the possibility of a storm along the east coast along about Tuesday but of course at this stage there is wide variations in track and strength so we will just lay this aside for the moment as we focus on the first system for Thursday night into Friday. Again this is not going to be a big deal.

The maps below are the National Weather Service forecast snow maps with the most likely snowfall prediction. There has been some minor adjustment to snow amounts in New Jersey . The Weather Service also raised estimates for Long Island Hudson Valley and Connecticut.
