Slow Improvement Next Several Days Showers Thunderstorms Late Sunday
We still are dealing with low pressure both at the surface and aloft over the Northeast. Yes weather conditions will slowly improve today but we do have the instability of the upper low to deal with so there could still be some scattered showers or even a thunderstorm that pops up during the day. Some sunshine will be in the mix too on this Thursday. The upper low and some cloud cover will help to hold temperatures down and highs today will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s. The improving trend should continue Friday which looks to be no worse than partly sunny. Given the humid conditions there is the possibility for an isolated shower or thunderstorm that could pop up but it is conceivable that Friday could be rain free for the vast majority. Most high temperatures will be in a range of 80 to 85 degrees except a little lower along the cooler at shore locations.
On to the weekend where Saturday will likely be fine though a little sticky and there will be some sunshine. No rain is in the forecast for Saturday which is a good thing. High temperatures will be in the low and middle 80s. Dew points will be in the low and mid 60s so it will be on the humid side. Temperatures again will be a few degrees lower at the shore.
Sunday brings an approaching cold front so we may wind up being dry through the middle of the afternoon. Then the front will come close enough for some showers and a few thunderstorms. It will be warm and humid Sunday with highs in the lower 80s. Clouds coming in will probably hold temperatures down somewhat. Right now the front and the weather system associated with it doesn’t look as vigorous as the one from Tuesday and Wednesday.
