Showers Sunday Cold Front Moving East April Dry Chilly Start

Everything behaved according to plan today as highs reached into the 70s from NYC westward. Long Island and Coastal Connecticut saw highs into the 60s. All in all it was a good late March early spring kind of day and now we watch and wait for a cold front to move on through for Sunday which will not be a good day. Clouds to the west on the satellite loop are moving eastward. This will keep things warm tonight with temperatures in the 40s to lower 50s.

Sunday it is all about a cold front moving through and frankly there isn’t much with this front to speak of. There will be some showers developing around mid morning and they will be moving from west to east during the afternoon. It doesn’t look to be anything impressive at all. Rainfall amounts will be under a quarter of an inch. Highs on Sunday could briefly reach into the 60s before the front passes and then temperatures will settle in the 50s later in the day,.

Saturday Spring Day Sunday Spring Showers

The front goes by and sky conditions clear out Sunday night with most lows in the upper 20s to mid 30s. Monday will be a chilly day with some sunshine and highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Tuesday look for sunshine to give way to arriving clouds as a storm off the southeast coast of the US moves northeast. I have been maintaining that this system will pass south and east with little consequence here thanks to a relatively flat looking flow in the Eastern US and I don’t see much to change that idea on today’s weather model runs.

Once this low moves out Tuesday the rest of next week looks dry and seasonal. Temperatures will be chilly during the first part of the week but will tend to rise somewhat toward the end of the week. Next weekend could bring the chance for some showers as a Pacific system comes ashore this week and pushes eastward.
