Shower Chances & Cooler Today Sunshine Breezy Cool Sunday

We begin the weekend with yesterday’s frontal boundary and developing wave out to the northeast. However to the west we can see rotation over the Great Lakes heading east into New England today. This will make for cold unstable atmosphere aloft. We will see clouds and some sunshine mixed today but probably more clouds will be around this afternoon. Some scattered showers are possible as the upper low moves along but I think most people won’t see them and if you do they will be brief. As far as temperatures go we are cooler today and most highs this afternoon will be in the low to middle 60s.

WEATHER RADAR

The upper low pulls away to the northeast tonight taking clouds and showers with it. Skies will at least partially clear tonight with lows in the mid to upper 40s. Sunday should be no worse than partly sunny and it will be breezy. Northwest winds will gust 15 to 25 mph at times. High temperatures Sunday wlll be a little cooler reaching the lower 60s in most places.

Monday brings another upper air disturbance that will be moving southeast from Eastern Canada. This not only makes for a cold unstable atmosphere but it will be on the windy side. Winds will be from the northwest and gust to 30 mph or more at times. We will see clouds and some sunshine but there is the risk for a few scattered showers as the disturbance goes by. Monday highs will be in the lower 60s.

The atmosphere will stabilize some on Tuesday which will allow for more sunshine and fewer clouds though it will still be on the breezy side. Highs will be in the middle 60s. Wednesday we should warm up ahead of the next weather system that likely brings a cold rain to the area Friday and possibly the first snows for some interior areas of Pennsylvania and Upstate New York. Wednesday highs will be in the low 60s. Thursday  we cloud up ahead of the next storm system with highs just in the 50s.
