We are still seeing some severe weather in parts of South Jersey tonight with various severe thunderstorms still going in several counties. The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service had to extend the area of marginal risk to Southern New Jersey where severe weather has been going since this afternoon.

The disturbance causing this along the coast will be lifting out to the northeast during the night and all severe weather will come to an end. Also there is dry air being drawn in on the western side and this bodes well for Sunday daytime with sunshine and temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s. While I’m leaving the chance for a pop up thunderstorm in the afternoon I think the risk will be lower than today.

Outlook for Sunday & Monday
For areas to the north of Central New Jersey the activity has been far less and much less intense. Those areas will see improvement as well and Sunday will be no worse than partly sunny with highs in the 80s to around 90.

Monday sees the next cold front approaching. It will be hot ahead of it with highs into the 90s and then there will be some thunderstorms Monday night. Once again models are all over the place as to who gets what and at what time. This season it seems that Central and Southern New Jersey has been the place that gets hit the most so we would favor model shifting to that idea over time.
