Scattered Storm Risk Later Today Week Ahead Outlook
This morning started off with downpours and heavy thunderstorms that are running ahead of an upper trough and cold front to the south and west. The first batch moves offshore and we will see some daytime heating and sunshine. However satellite loops show two spokes of energy to the west and they could set off some downpours and thunderstorms later today. The Storm Prediction Center is indicating a marginal risk for isolated severe thunderstorms.

WEATHER RADAR
We will keep our eyes on the radars today for any development. Otherwise we do see a mix of sun and clouds between these spokes of energy moving through. Humidity levels remain somewhat on the high side and high temperatures this afternoon will generally reach into the lower 80s in most places. Once we get through the evening hours, showers and storms disappear and skies partially clear with lows i
Behind the cold front is drier air and dew points will be coming down Monday into the upper 50s and lower 60s making things somewhat more comfortable. However we still have the upper trough to deal with that will linger over the Northeast US. Instability clouds, some scattered showers, and perhaps a storm or two is still a possibilty but we will have a mix of sun and clouds in between with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s for Monday afternoon.
Tuesday and Wednesday look to be two nice days with sunshine, reasonable humidity, highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s, and no shower or thunderstorm activity in the forecast. This will change Thursday as another cold front approaches and with that front we see showers and thunderstorms late in the day Thursday into Thursday night. Drier air should return during the early morning hours Friday setting is up for a decent finish weather wise to the week.
