Record highs are being set across many areas this afternoon which is really no big surprise. Just 48 hours ago we were in the single digits to below zero in some places. Now we are in the 60s.

A RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 66 WAS SET AT NEWARK NJ TODAY.
THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 61 SET IN 1975.

AS OF 12 PM, THE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 65 DEGREES, WHICH BREAKS
THE OLD DAILY RECORD OF 63 SET BACK IN 1913.
RECORDS IN THE ATLANTIC CITY AREA DATE BACK TO 1874.
The satellite loop shows clouds coming in from the west and there are numerous showers on the radar going by just to the north of us. Some might survive this evening but it looks like most of the shower activity is likely to weaken before it gets here.
Now comes the next chance and the ride down the roller coaster. Lows tonight will be in the 40s and temperatures on Friday will probably settle in the low to mid 40s. Then temperatures will drop into the low to mid 20s by Saturday morning.
LIGHT SNOW THREAT SATURDAY
Saturday’s weather system is likely to remain weak. It could produce a period of snow. Some models generate enough for a coating to a couple of inches. I think the best chance of this will be to the south so I continue to leave my snow forecast map unchanged. Temperatures on Saturday will be cold with highs in the lower 30s in most areas especially in areas where snow falls.
This system moves out during Saturday night and Sunday we will see clouds and some sun with chilly temperatures in the 30s.
