Record High Temperatures For New Jersey This Weekend

Record High Temperatures For New Jersey This Weekend

Heating oil under 2 dollars a gallon and piles of firewood all over the place will go unused over the next few days. At least your heating system remains off most of the time. Make no mistake we are going to from above normal temperatures to much above normal temperatures over the next 5 days. Beginning Thursday we will see temperatures running 10 degrees above normal with highs reaching the middle to upper 50s. Then Friday through Sunday we will be 20 degrees or more above normal at times with record highs challenged and broken in many cases.

High pressure aloft is just so dominant in the east and the flow off the Pacific Ocean remains uninterrupted. The Arctic is completely cut off. The pattern across the United States and especially in the east is about as non winter like as it will ever get. The ridge will hold in the east until Sunday and a cold front that will bring an end to record high temperatures won’t be coming through until Monday

Until then we will continue to deal with weak disturbances that go by from time to time producing clouds. There could be a spot shower Thursday night into early Friday morning as the very warm air begins to arrive. Other than that no rain is in the forecast through Sunday. We should have some sun from time to time as well especially on Saturday. It might actually get warm enough for local seabreezes to develop along and just inland of the shore! You would think this were summertime!Monday we will see a strong cold front with a good shot for showers and who knows, perhaps even a rare December thunderstorm!

Once the front moves through we should see temperatures return to near or a little above normal for a few days. No big changes in the overall weather pattern are foreseen into the middle of next week.
