Rain Wet Snow Tonight Then Cold Arrives
This morning we are watching and area of rain and snow in the Ohio Valley that is going to be moving eastward. A wave on yesterday’s weather front is going to develop and move east northeast and off the coast overnight. It is not a big deal. We will see a period of rain and perhaps even some wet snow overnight before it moves out by morning. The system is weak as there isn’t much room for development.
You can see the radar echos on the surface map but you can barely find the wave itself. Its there but it is weak. To the west is the arctic boundary where temperatures go from the 30s to the teens and single digits. That boundary is moving east as well.

I don’t expect much to happen today other then sunshine giving way to arriving clouds with highs into the 40s in most places. Then some rain or wet snow tonight that doesn’t amount to much. There is an outside change somebody could get the ground whitened up or perhaps a bit more but that should be it. Everything should be done before day break. The arctic boundary moves through on Wednesday and there is another weak wave that develops and passes to the south Wednesday night. The NAM weather model shows a little precipitation with this but for now we will leave out any precipitation. Wednesday we will see sunshine and clouds with highs in the 30s to near 40. Then temperatures begin there decent into Thursday and hitting bottom Friday morning with lows in the teens to single digits.
There could be some snow squalls and snow showers in some areas as the cold air moves in Thursday into Thursday night and that could whiten up the ground in spots. Friday will be very cold with highs just into the 20s. The we get set for a burst of snow and ice beginning Saturday morning before going over to rain later in the day. I will have more on this later this afternoon.
