Rain Moving East Dry Seasonal Week Ahead
Now that temperatures are all above freezing this morning we see another little batch of rain that will be moving through parts of the area until about midday and then after that we see the rain moving east and weather conditions improving. The week ahead looks dry and basically seasonal. The satellite loop shows plenty of clouds will still be around for the rest of the day but it does get better once this weak upper trough clears the coastline. Skies should begin to partially clear out tonight. Temperatures today will probably have a tough time making it back to the the upper 40s and lower 50s thanks to the cloud cover. Then we should head down into the 30s to near 40 tonight.

Rain has been a bit heavier to the south but even here the area is moving to the east and there is no danger of another wave developing and prolonging any rainfall.

Tuesday and Wednesday we should see some sunshine before another weak cold front comes through Wednesday night or early Thursday with some clouds and at worst a passing shower. Then that moves out and Thursday and Friday look dry. Highs should be back into the 50s each day with nights in the 30s to near 40 except for the usual cold spots inland that will see lows probably in the 20s.
LONG RANGE LOOKS COLD WITH BLOCKING
All models continue to point to a cold blocking pattern developing beginning this weekend. A stronger cold front approaches with showers for Saturday and highs close to 60. However once that front passes another shot of cold air comes in behind it. That shot of cold air could be as cold as the one we just saw.
Also we will perhaps need to watch for a cheap thrill possibility next Sunday as the cold air arrives and an upper air disturbance moves through. Thanksgiving week looks rather cold and with the blocking around, other possibilities loom in the longer term but it is way too early to speculate on these things at the moment.
