Rain & Local Flooding Ends With Slow Improvement Later Today

We have areas of heavy rain around this morning across Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England and we have also see areas of flash flooding. Most areas have received 1 to 2 inches of rain with some locally higher amounts. We have our fingers crossed that the rain exits from west to east around midday and that weather conditions will start to improve from west to east during this afternoon. While it is raining temperatures will be in the upper 60s to lower70s but we could jump up this afternoon through the 70s. Humidity is high and that will remain the case all day.

During tonight a cold front will pass through and that will finally sweep out the humid air. There could be a scattered passing shower with the frontal passage but even if it happens it doesn’t amount to much. Most lows will be in the 60s. Behind the front is a beautiful dry September air mass. Humidity levels will drop rapidly Monday and we will see a good amount of sunshine with highs reaching the middle to upper 70s.
Monday night into Tuesday morning will be the coolest night we have seen since back in early June. Lows Tuesday morning will be in the 40s in many inland locations with coast and warmer urban areas bottoming in the low to mid 50s. Tuesday will be a nice sunny day with most highs just in the low to middle 70s. It appears that much if not all of this week will be dry with little to no rain, and temperatures and humidity levels reasonable. Wednesday through Friday will be a little warmer with highs each day in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Each day should be no worse than partly sunny.
