Clouds have rolled in this morning and there is rain on the radar to the south with a northern area of rain on the radar coming toward New York City but much of that is aloft and the air at the surface is very dry. This rain will have a tough time reaching the surface. The main area to the south will probably make it as far north as Central New Jersey, Southeast Pennsylvania to about New York City and Long Island before it begins to drop southward overnight and Wednesday morning. Temperatures today should make it into the 60s but once it starts raining temperatures will drop back into the 50s.

Rain fall totals should be light and under a quarter of an inch for the most part. Once the rain moves to the south Wednesday morning skies should become partly sunny with highs in the 60s to near 70. Thursday and Friday look good with sunshine and highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s at least.
The weekend hinges on low pressure along the coast and a developing onshore flow. JOESTRADAMUS has more on that.
