Rain For Thursday But Not Much

Rain For Thursday But Not Much

Dense fog overnight is reducing visibilities to near zero over the entire area. Please exercise caution while driving overnight or at the start of the morning rush hour drive.

It has been an unusual couple of days with not a cloud in the sky for the last 60 hours or so. That is a rare occurrence here to be so cloud free for so long . However that is finally going to change in the early morning hours as low clouds come in from off the ocean and they should spread inland to some degree after sunup. You can see on the satellite loop the strong ridge in the east. Just look at how the clouds arc over Southeastern Canada. That is the northern edge of the strong upper high that dominates the weather in the east.

The radar is showing some moisture to the south but it is very light. During Thursday we will see clouds with some breaks of sun but there is the chance for some light rain or drizzle in a few spots. It will not amount to much if it happens and any rain will be under a tenth of an inch everywhere.

Friday our winds go from southeast to southwest and that means one more warm day with temperatures in the low to mid 70s. The air mass by Friday will be rather stale and you will notice that in the sky condition with probably clouds and some haze in the mix

Friday evening we will see a cold front move through with maybe a shower. This will be followed by colder air over the weekend and into early next week. By colder I mean that temperatures will  revert back to normal for this time of year with most weekend highs in the 50s. Saturday it might still make low 60s for the highs as the core of the cool air won’t come in until Saturday night into Sunday. Early next week we will have to watch to see what happens as an onshore flow is likely to develop again.
