Rain Ending Later Today Dry Through Midweek 80s Wednesday

Watching the advancement of rain on the radar this morning it seems everything is moving along on schedule. The rain is coming to an end slowly from southwest to northeast and before you know it, it should be mostly done by midday or early afternoon for most folks. There could be some improvement but I expect to see lots of leftover clouds around this afternoon with temperatures ranging from the 50s north and east of NYC to low and mid 60s south and west of Philadelphia.

As we make our way through tonight it will become breezy with skies clearing out. Temperatures overnight should bottom in the upper 30s to middle 40s. We are seeing a tight gradient behind the low but it isn’t super tight. Monday should be sunny and breezy with winds gusts perhaps occasionally approaching 30 mph or so. Highs will be mostly in the low to mid 60s.

Nothing has changed regarding the outlook for this new week. Temperatures are headed higher starting Tuesday with highs reaching the 70s just above everywhere from Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England with plenty of sunshine. Wednesday we will take up another notch and highs could reach the low and middle 80s especially just inland and west of coastal areas.

Thursday we see a cold front approaching from the northwest and that will pass through sometime Thursday evening. This brings the prospect of more clouds than sun on Thursday with the likelihood of showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening as the front nears and then goes by. Highs Thursday will be generally in the mid 70s to lower 80s.

After that it should turn cooler and drier for Friday and the start of next weekend. Weather systems seem to be in a mode of moving along with fronts arriving every couple of days. My thinking is it should be dry much of the time with shots for showers from time to time. Temperatures for a change will trend near or above average as May begins.
