NYC Temperature Forecast Sunday Below Zero?
Years ago before weather models and temperature guidance, there was an old forecast rule that was used in cases like this one with bitter cold air and high pressure building in from the north. The key to all this is the wind direction. If it is North Northwest to North (325-360), the 1pm temperature at Rochester NY the day before will be the morning low in New York City the next day. Let’s test the Rochester rule since it might apply tonight (depending on that wind direction)

Let’s see what the 1pm temperatures are and we will see if the old Rochester Rule works. I will be posting the 1pm temperature as soon as it hits. As of 11am it was below zero all around Rochester with the downtown temperature at 1 above zero.
