No Weather Forecast Changes Through Friday As Blocking Develops In A Stormy Pattern

There isn’t much to change or adjust in the forecast through Friday. Everything remains the same as far as the outlook goes. We have a few clouds around this evening as a little upper air disturbance goes by. Otherwise we are looking at skies clearing out tonight with lows mostly in the 30s inland to near 40 in warmer urban centers. Radars both regionally and locally are quiet as well. We have no issues at all for Tuesday which is probably the best day of the week with plenty of sunshine. Highs will reach the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Things start to change Wednesday as a cold front approaches. We have the first of two major storms in the west heading east. This one heads for the Great Lakes later Tuesday and then across the Great Lakes to New England by early Thursday. The trailing cold front produces clouds and maybe a passing shower on Wednesday with highs in the 50s to near 60. Then the wind machine cranks up Wednesday night into Thanksgiving morning.

This Great Lakes low is going to strengthen to our northeast with strong high pressure building down from Canada. It will be a cold and windy Thanksgiving with some sunshine but highs just in the 40s and winds will be 20 to 30 mph from the northwest with gusts to 40 mph possible putting Thanksgiving Parade balloons at risk for not attending the festivities. We shall see. Friday will still be breezy with some sunshine and highs just into the 40s as our storm to the east stalls and we start to look at another major storm to the west.

Storm Departing Weather Improves Next 2 Days

With regards to this storm there are no issues for Saturday which should be no worse than sunshine giving way to arriving clouds with highs mostly in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Then things get complicated by a developing blocking pattern in the upper atmosphere.

We have a developing blocking low to the east and an approaching powerhouse system to the west. Also we have Canada energy that may or many not drop southward and impact the block and the approaching storm to the west.

We will be grappling with this for the next several days. Additional details on the long range including the latest long range video can be found on my weather platform on Patreon.
