Mostly Dry Weather Conditions Through Wednesday

Coastal Storm Develops Thursday & Friday

We are in a northwest flow in the upper atmosphere. The old cold front and storm system remains in view on satellite and radar loops. We are seeing leftover rains in Northern New England. The flow from the northwest on the back side of this storm system and the upper feature creates a cold unstable atmosphere. We probably won’t see any scattered showers today across Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England. It will be more along the lines of a mix of sun and clouds. Most high temperatures today will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s. It will be breezy however with winds gusting to 25 mph or more at times from the northwest.

WEATHER RADAR

Skies may try to partially clear early tonight only to see clouds roll back in during the early morning lows. Most lows Monday morning will be in the 40s. Another upper air disturbance will be passing through Monday mid morning with some scattered showers. We should go over to a mix of sun and clouds once that plays through and it will be windy at times during the afternoon, gusting to 30 mph or more at times. Monday highs will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

Tuesday and Wednesday should feature two nice weather days of sunshine. High temperatures both days will be in the 60s. However we do see changes arriving Thursday as winds turn northeast and colder air is pulled southward into New England and New York state. To the west we have low pressure coming out of the Plains and into the Ohio Valley. This low will redevelop off the coast of Delaware/New Jersey Thursday night into Friday, bringing not only much colder temperatures (for this time of year) but some coastal rain and wind.

This storm system will also bring the first snows for elevated areas of the Northern Appalachians to Pennsylvania, New York State and Central and Northern New England though at this early stage, how much is in question. For the coast it is a cold rain. Temperatures Thursday will be in the 50s. Friday through Sunday we will see temperatures only in the 40s by day and we will be dropping down into the 20s and 30s over next weekend at night. We will be zeroing in on specifics in the coming days and of course we will discuss this tonight on the Joe & Joe Weather Show Podcast at 7:35pm on youtube.
