Everything is moving along in the atmosphere this morning. An upper air disturbance is crossing Pennsylvania and we will see showers from this from mid morning until mid afternoon. A few thunderstorms could bubble up and because the air aloft is so cold, if you wind up seeing some small hail, don’t be shocked. Once this goes by weather conditions improve with some sunshine developing from west to east late this afternoon. Temperatures will be in the 60s. Skies tonight will be clear and it will be chilly with lows in the 40s to around 50.

Looking ahead to Thursday and Friday we will see sunshine both days with average highs 70 to 75. Then Saturday looks to start with some sunshine and then it gives way to arriving clouds. I am not forecasting rain for the dayside Saturday. Highs in the 70s. Weather models have backed way off from the silliness of the last few days, and in fact the European Model argues for no rain at all through the weekend. Just clouds. We will see where the day runs go but this seems to be the trend in the last few runs.
Saturday is the 148th running of the Belmont Stakes. There is no triple crown at stake this year but it is a day filled with quality racing including the Metropolitan Mile, The Manhattan, Just a Game, and the Ogden Phipps among other graded races. Fast and Firm was my prediction yesterday and fast and firm is my prediction today. Im not forecasting any rain and temperatures in the 70s.
