Long Island Rainy Saturday But A Dry Sunny Warm Sunday
We are at the doorstep of the weekend and we can say that Sunday will definitely be the better of the two weekend days. We have two weather systems that will impact Saturday’s weather. The first is a low pressure area off the North Carolina coast. This low will be wobbling north and northeastward tonight and Saturday. To the west we have a cold front that is approaching and with that front there is a line of showers. Long Island looks to be in line for rain Saturday and it could be a soaking rain at least for awhile before the system finally clears out to the east Saturday night.

Some of the latest model runs are suggesting that the cold front will enhance the rain area from the ocean low at bit more and that means that rainfall amounts, which are being forecast to be in the 3/4 inch to inch range could likely run higher, possibly double that in some areas especially to the east.
