Long Island Delightlful Weather Friday Through Sunday
It is never too early to talk about the weekend so let’s start with Friday which is getaway day or arrival day depending on whether you are coming or going. Friday we see a new and more importantly dry air mass building into the Eastern Seaboard. That wicked humidity is long gone and we see a pleasant day of sunshine, low humidity and a nice northerly breeze. Highs will be in the lower 80s in most places including the shore. For the East End it will be a little cooler with highs in the upper 70s to around 80. We don’t see any issues other than a few passing clouds and it will be very comfortable with low humidity. Saturday morning lows will be in the lower 60s.
Both Saturday and Sunday will be two nice days with sunshine for both. This dry air mass will be in no hurry to move out of the way as an upper trough settles in the Eastern US and holds things in place for a while. Highs both Saturday and Sunday will be in the Lower 80s except upper 70s to near 80 over the East End. Nighttime lows under clear skies Saturday night will be in the lower 60s.
Things may be a bit different next week. As an upper trough settles in the Eastern US and gets re-enforeced, low pressure drops out of the Plains and swings to the East Coast and this could actually bring some opportunities for much needed rain though how it plays out remains to be seen. It seems we could see clouds arriving Sunday night with some rain arriving during the day Monday and we will leave the chances for rain in for Tuesday. We can say that if you are looking for heat and humidity, it doesn’t appear to be coming back next week.
