90 DEGREE PLUS TEMPERATURES WITH HIGH HUMIDITY
Since the beginning of June other than the odd day here and there we have not had hot and humid weather. That is about to change later this week once we get through whatever rain we get Monday night and Tuesday.

The flow across the United States become westerly but we are on the southern fringe of the westerlies with the strongest upper air winds to our north. This brings the edge of hot and humid weather up to our latitude. I would figure we will see highs in the upper 80s to low 90s out of this with high humidity. After Tuesday’s weather system goes by there is no new dry air mass to replace it. We are probably going to have to wait until later next weekend for another dry shot from Canada to move in.
This actually happens later next weekend. However until then these are the gfs model forecast 2pm temperatures so you can tack on another degree or two for the high temperatures of the day.

Now for the Middle Atlantic States temperatures are going to be very hot..in the mid to upper 90s for a few days. Also given all the atmospheric steaminess I would not be surprised to see some thunderstorms pop up each day and some of those could be strong producing locally heavy downpours.

Dew points are going to be rather high in the mid 60s to lower 70s which is fairly juicy. These conditions will be around through Saturday July 9th as the next cold front approaches. During this week we will evaluate whether this will be a severe weather producer as it moves through.
