Beginning Monday September 28th I will be doing something I have never done before. I will begin a new adventure as the prime time meteorologist for FiOS1 News Long Island, New Jersey, and Hudson Valley! If you get FiOS at home it is channel 1 or 501. If you don’t get FiOS you can go to the website and watch there for your region and I will be posting the weathercasts here on the website!
It has been an interesting personal journey to get to this point and honestly if you asked me a year ago (almost to the day) that I would be in this position today, I would have thought it fantasy. It required several difficult decisions and taking some risks and stepping out of my comfort zone (fly fishing anyone?). Somehow, a year later I have gotten something that has eluded me for so many years in my career. Thankfully I had complete and total support from my family especially Mrs Cioffi who never doubted I would get there even though I did (many times).
I want to also say a special thank you to Brian Fitzgerald FiOS1 News chief meteorologist who “opened a door” for me 6 months ago that got me to this point. And also to executive producer John Houseman who got this all started 20 years ago when he wanted to hire me at WPIX. Their kindness and efforts will never be forgotten. And and a huge THANK YOU to FiOS1 News for this wonderful opportunity!
So now, in addition to facebook, twitter, website, app, tumblr, linked-in, stumbleupon, and a few other things..now you have me on TV Monday through Friday at 5pm and 10pm. Im looking forward to what should be a fun winter.
