Clouds Showers Thunderstorms Ahead Of Heat Humidity Beginning Tuesday

We have a day of clouds and some sun ahead of us. It will be a warm and humid day with highs mostly in the middle to upper 80s inland and 70s to near right along the immediate coast. Today we are seeing winds that will be coming out of the south so between that and some clouds in the mix, temperatures will be held down some. Also we will throw in the chance for some scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms popping up though I think there will be fewer showers and storms than what we saw Saturday aftenroon and evening.

Tonight into Monday we have a warm front coming up from the south and that will be followed by a cold front swinging in from the west as low pressure moves from the Ohio Valley to Northern New England. Ahead of this tonight we will see some showers and a few heavier downpours however it seems that the chances for those downpours will be heavier inland than along the coast. Once the warm front goes by we will see the cold front approach so look for very warm and muggy conditions with highs in the low to mid 80s. Late in the day showers and thunderstorms will develop and move through parts of the area and the Storm Prediction Center is indicating a marginal risk for isolated severe thunderstorms. As for temperatures Monday, depending on how much sunshine we get in between the clouds in the early mornng and the thunderstorms late in the day. The daytime heating will also be key in how strong these thunderstorms will be. We will go with highs in th upper 70s near the coast and low to mid 80s inland. Once the front goes by the air mass coming in is not another of these cool dry Canadian air masses but a hot and humid air mass that is essentially breaking off from the stronger heat ridge in the Plains and points west. Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunny and hot and we will throw in the chance for a shower or thunderstorm in one or two isiolated spots both days. Highs will be in a range of 90 to 95 both days with Wednesday being a little hotter than Thursday. Thursday will be the third hot and humid day in a row with highs into the 90s. A cold front will move through late Thursday and we will throw in the chance for a shower or thunderstorm. There should be some humidity relief behind the front and perhaps a little temperature releif as well but it will still be very warm Friday into next weekend.
