Hurricane Chris Accelerates Northeast Beryl Remnants BahamasThe satellite loops are rather interesting today as they show hurricane Chris accelerating to the northeast while the remnants of Hurricane Beryl are now in the Bahamas with a rather persistent area of disorganized thunderstorm activity. Meanwhile Beryl's remnants have made their way to the Bahamas and will be off the East Coast of the US for the next several days.

Upper level winds remain unfavorable for any kind of development but those winds are forecast to relax as the remnants make their way slowly northeastward over the next few days. It will still be around over the weekend though it should be another system that remains offshore. There is a chance Beryl could regenerate and it will be watched for any signs of organization.Back to Hurricane Chris, the offshore system is ripping up the ocean waters of New Jersey & Long Island and if you are beach bound this evening or Thursday, beware rip currents and rough ocean seas which will continue to be a problem. There may still be some residual problems with rip currents into Friday.
