- Rain Raw Conditions Developing Tuesday More Rain Wednesday Night
Rain Raw Conditions Developing Tuesday More Rain Wednesday NightThe risk today was sunshine that lasted longer than advertised and it did for an extra hour or two. It was certainly enough to take temperatures into the 60s in many locations from Upstate NY and interior New England southwest to Maryland and Virginia. Coastal areas managed 50s before any sea breeze took hold. Clouds are now increasing tonight ahead of 2 rounds of rain over the next 3 days.
LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITYWednesday we will likely catch a short break with just lots of clouds during the day. A second low develops and moves northeast into Pennsylvania Wednesday night and then into New England. The front from this will have an arm of rain and few heavier downpours that will come in Wednesday night and then end Thursday morning. Total rainfalls over the next 3 days should be on the order of a 1/2 to 3/4 inch so we don't expect anything major to come of this. Behind the Wednesday night cold front much colder air arrives that will take us into the weekend. Some snow showers will occur on Thursday in Upstate NY and Pennsylvania south into West Virginia. Some areas could see heavy snows due to lake effect and a snow shower or two here can't be ruled out Thursday night or on Friday as the upper trough swings through. Temperatures Thursday will be in the 40s before easing. Friday and Saturday will be cold with highs only into the 30s and nights in the teens and lower 20s. Temperatures should start to recover somewhat on Sunday.
