Weather Transition Begins Warmer More Humid Early Look At Next Week

Our Monday is underway as we squeeze out one more nice day with sunshine and reasonable humidity. Temperatures will reach the 80s this afternoon. It will be cooler along the coast with a sea breeze developing. To the west on the satellite picture we can see some clouds. This is a warm frontal boundary that is beginning to set up. We expect this to pass through here overnight into Tuesday morning with a few showers or a thunderstorm between 2am and 7am. However for the rest of today it looks fine and so does this evening with no weather issues and nothing of consequence foreseen  on the radars.

On to Tuesday where we will see any showers exit early and then we will go to a mix of sun and clouds warm and humid conditions with highs in the 80s. Northeast and east into Southern New England Tuesday temperatures will be in the 70s as clouds take longer to get out of the way. Other than a stray late day shower or thunderstorm in isolated spots the day should be dry.

Week Ahead Transition To Very Warm More Humid Conditions

Much of this week will be very warm and humid. Chances for showers and thunderstorms will be low and they will be scattered in nature or on some days just isolated. Otherwise each day will feature sun and clouds, very warm and somewhat humid conditions with highs in the 80s to near 90. Temperatures will be cooler at the beaches. The jet stream pattern this week puts us on the edge of a west northwest flow from Canada which means we will be very warm to borderline hot but it won’t get out of hand. Humidity levels will be higher than they were this weekend but they also will not get out of hand. This outlook carries us through Friday.

That west northwest flow will eventually bring a cold front through here on Saturday with a chance for thunderstorms late in the day as this cold front moves through. Highs will again be in the 80s to near 90. Then heading into Sunday and next week which is a very popular vacation week (includes July 4th), we see a pattern like we just had setting up.

An upper low strengthens in Eastern Canada creating a strong north northwest flow. This is going to bring another nice cool dry air mass into the East beginning Sunday and lasting through much of next week. This will bring us a stretch of dry weather with low humidity and sunshine much of the time. There could be some instability clouds and isolated showers on Sunday as the trough comes through but there will also be some sunshine. This pattern keeps it from getting hot and humid, or if it does, it would be for the one odd day ahead of another cold front that will effectively shut the heat and humidity off. Right now we can be optimistic about the weather much of the time for the next 2 weeks.
