Saint Patrick’s Day Sunshine Cold Mostly Dry Week Ahead
It is the second half of the Saint Patrick’s Day weekend with today the actual. It is another day of local parades and festivities and it will be under bright blye skies and sunshine with just some patchy clouds. The satellite loop shows some high clouds streaming to the south of us and there is some cloud cover and flurries coming down from the Great Lakes. Other than that it will be a nice day though temperatures won’t be going much of anywhere with highs just into the 40s.
Tonight we will see clears skies to start with some clouds coming in as a weak low passes by well to our south with no real consequences other than a passing snow shower tomorrow morning over Southern New Jersey and Delaware. Temperatures overnight will be in the teens and lower 20s. Monday looks like we should see sunshine after some morning clouds with highs just in the 40s. The nice weather continues Tuesday and Wednesday with some sunshine both days and highs in the 40s.
Thursday brings the only chance for showers this week as a cold front passes through from the northwest and low pressure passes well offshore. It may be the one day we see temperatures into the 50s. Another chilly shot of air follows for Friday into next weekend. There are no big storms on the horizon. Spring arrives Thursday and it seems that other than occasional shots of chilly air, this will be a typical early spring and not an extension of winter as we have seen over the past 5 or 6 years.
