Heavy Rains Moving East
Heavy Rains Moving East
Heavy rains moving northeast have left already an inch or more of rain over New Jersey and New York City with 1/2 inch to an inch in a large area as of 2:30 and there is some more rain to go to add to these amounts as we head into the evening commute. The satellite loop shows that first disturbance lifting northeastward and it will continue to pull moisture up until the rains shift offshore this evening.
Radars remain busy but we can see the back edge of the rain pushing through Western New Jersey. We will probably see the steady rain gradually end from west to east in the late afternoon and evening but there will probably still be some lingering showers around and some fog developing tonight. Temperatures are in the mid to upper 50s in most places and we will stay warm when the second round of rain moves in later Wednesday morning. There may also be a few thunderstorms in the mix. All of this will move out Wednesday night and weather conditions will improve on Thursday.
