Freeze Watch NJ Hudson Valley
Chilly Nights New Few Days
The next few nights across the area will be rather chilly with Wednesday morning being the coldest of the next free. Freeze Watch NJ Hudson Valley is posted mainly for the remaining areas that have not seen their first frost or freeze.
FREEZE WATCH NJ HUDSON VALLEY WEDNESDAY MORNING FORECAST LOWS
The cold shots of the last few weeks have chipped away at areas that still have a growing season. For those areas the growing season is over and no freeze watch is required.
All those isobars on the map above are reflecting the strong storm that is sitting in Eastern Canada that isn’t going away fast. The large circulation can be seen on the satellite loop. Some patchy clouds will be coming through from time to time overnight and again on Tuesday before skies completely clear out Tuesday night and winds drop off some.
Radars are quiet for the most part and will remain so through Wednesday. There are no significant changes in the outlook for Thursday. Low pressure will be approaching from the midwest. If precipitation moves in fast enough Thursday morning some areas in NW New Jersey & the Hudson Valley as you head north toward Route 84 could see some sleet or wet snow at the start for a brief time. Its a little too early for accumulating snow this far south through a setup like this in the winter time would probably mean several to many inches of snow in some areas. Upstate NY toward Albany and points northeastward could get a decent thumping of a few inches especially in higher elevations. At least we have a shot for some decent rains here area wide Thursday on the order of a half inch to an inch before drying out on Friday.
