Record Temperatures Friday
Record Temperatures Friday
Friday will be another hot day around here with record temperatures possible. New York City’s record is 94 which goes all the way back to 1915. Newark’s record is 98 which goes back to 1964. Philadelphia’s record high is 94 going back to 1884! Allentown’s record is 95 set last year. don’t think we get to 98 at Newark but 90 to 95 will be the general range. Oddly enough last year on September 8th Newark hit 98 degrees! So we apparently have been down this road before of late summer heat in early September.
A weak weather front is going to be moving through and stalling out just to our south and then coming back north Friday night into Saturday morning. There could be a downpour or two when the warm front goes by. Then Saturday is another hot and humid day with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. A cold front follows with some showers or a thunderstorm during Saturday night, probably between midnight and 7am Sunday morning. As the day progresses Sunday we should see decreasing clouds and increasing amounts of sunshine with lower humidity and highs in the 80s. Monday and Tuesday look nice with sunshine, comfortable conditions and highs in the 70s to near 80.
