The rapid weakening process continues and once category three Hurricane Danny is now downgraded to a Tropical Depression. My suspicion is the shear will pretty much finish Danny off in the next day or so.
…DANNY WEAKENS TO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION…
SUMMARY OF 800 AM AST…1200 UTC…INFORMATION
ABOUT 20 MI…30 KM S OF GUADELOUPE
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS…35 MPH…55 KM/H
PRESENT MOVEMENT…W OR 275 DEGREES AT 12 MPH…19 KM/H
MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE…1009 MB…29.80 INCHES
Almost all of the tropical storm warnings are discontinued.
The system behind Danny is becoming better organized as both the ir satellite loop and the water vapor loop indicate. However again I would point out that the same longer term factors that impacted Danny are still around and could have an impact on the next system in the longer term.
There appears to be at least a mid level circulation here and it has the signature cirrus outflow to the north so clearly this is very close to becoming a tropical depression. The hurricane center gives this a 90 percent chance of tropical cyclone development.
