The risks of Isaias moving up the East Coast continue to rise and it is becoming likely that Isaias will impact the weather here from Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England on Tuesday. Timing still remains a big issues but all the weather models bring Isaias up the coast in one form or another. More on that in a moment. First we have our weather for this evening, tonight and the weekend.

It too awhile but skies did manage to clear out this afternoon and we are having a nice evening through most of the region from Eastern Pennsylvania to Southern New England. Clouds still linger in Southern New Jersey and points south this evening. The radars are mostly quiet after the downpours of overnight and this morning. Everything is offshore or well south.

REGIONAL RADAR

Tonight should be a warm night but temperatures should make it down to the mid 60s to around or just over 70 by morning. Saturday we will see sunshine. The humidity will back off slightly and highs will be in the 80s. We will allow for a scattered shower or thunderstorm popping up here and there.

Tropical Air returns Saturday night along with some showers and thunderstorms into Sunday morning. Then we transition over into a steamy day of some sunshine with highs in the 80s to near 90. The humidity will be very high, into the 70s like Florida and some thunderstorms are possible in the evening. In fact the Storm Prediction Center has us in a marginal risk for severe weather on Sunday.

HURRICANE ISAIAS SATELLITE

Our attention turns southward on Monday as Isaias either as a hurricane or as a tropical storm will be heading up the coast from Florida to the Carolinas. This means our weather here will be very warm and very humid with highs in the 80s and the chance for a pop up shower or thunderstorm. Weather conditions will start to deteriorate from south to north Monday night into Tuesday.

The National Hurricane Center forecast track has been shifting to the left or west for the last 2 days and this presents a number issues. Will the storm be just offshore or just inland because that does impact the outcome. regarding wind and rain. It seems this is a small storm in terms of geographic coverage so areas about 100 miles west of the center of Isaias might not seem much other than clouds. Along the track 2 to 4 inches of heavy rain is possible but again it would be in a narrow band.

Hurricane track model guidance has tightened up and shifted to the west as well so this lends a high degree of confidence to the forecast. As far as arrival times and the western edge of rainfall, this graphic is an early look at those issues.

We will of course be monitoring the situation all weekend as well as video updates on my weather platform on Patreon. Live streams will be ongoing this weekend both Saturday and Sunday with the Joe & Joe Weather Showl so check your notifications for live stream times.
