Hot Temperatures Through Wednesday With Highs in the 90s Chance for Thunderstorms Late Wednesday

Hot weather covers just about everyone from Virginia to the Hudson Valley today where sunshine will boost highs to the low and middle 90s in many locations. It will be a little different east of New York City across Southern New England and Long thanks to the south wind so temperatures will top out 10 or so degrees lower but still reachiung into the 80s in most places. No thunderstorms are forecast as the satellite and radar loops are nice and quiet pretty much up and down the Eastern Seaboard except for Northern New York and N

A backdoor cold front is dropping southward in Upstate New York but this front basically dissolves as it heads south so the impact is minimal. Tonight will be very warm with just a few passing clouds and lows in the mid 60s to lower 70s. That sets up for a solid launching pad Tuesday with a west wind and sunshine. Highs will reach the low and middle 90s just about everywhere except perhaps right on the beaches themselves. We will toss in the chance for a pop up inland shower or thunderstorm in the late afternoon but for most this is a non issue.

Wednesday brings another hot weather day but we have the risk for showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. Highs will reach the low and middle 90s once again. The Storm Prediction Center is indicating the risk for isolated severe thunderstorms when the front passes. Once the front goes by, weather conditions improve and it turns much cooler for Thursday and Friday. The Memorial Day holiday weekend looks like the risk for rain Saturday into at least part of Sunday with lingering showers around Monday.
