Flash Flood Watch New Jersey Eastern Pennsylvania
It looks like there could be another round of downpours and thunderstorms around the area today. New Jersey and the Hudson Valley have gotten the worst of it. Today’s activity remains concentrated over New Jersey where a Flash Flood Watch is posted. There looks as if there will be on round of downpours that will develop later today and swing down from the north. At least that is the plan according to the NAM 4km which has worked best through the last few days.

Radars are fairly quiet this morning except for a cell that moved through Ocean County which seems to be a magnet for morning thunderstorms lately. The watch covers Northern New Jersey north of Route 195 as well as much of Eastern Pennsylvania but it does not include the northeastern part of the state. Even though technically the northeastern counties are not in the watch, effectively they are close enough that any heavy rains will cause flash flooding there as well. I don’t anticipate any issues until later this afternoon and evening.
