FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR CANCELLED FOR SOUTHWEST NEW JERSEY

FLASH FLOOD WATCH HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR SOUTHWEST NEW JERSEY

Heavy downpours for the evening rush and then for the overnight is likely. Since the rain during the day has been particularly heavy over parts of New Jersey and there has already been some flooding look for additional flooding possibilities overnight. 1 to 3 inches of rain could accumulate in spots on top of what has already fallen through this afternoon.radar

This is the radar shot from 4:15pm this afternoon so you have a point of reference. Current radar loops are below and you can click on them to open them up to a bigger image. You can see there is heavy rain back through much of Eastern Pennsylvania that has to work its way through tonight assuming it all holds together. The wave just off Delaware is holding together pretty well and will continue to edge toward the northeast tonight. Gradually the rain will shift offshore and weather conditions will begin to improve late tonight in Western New Jersey and the rains should exit the coast early Friday morning. During the day Friday weather conditions should improve with decreasing clouds and increasing amounts of sunshine.
