Father’s Day Weekend Weather Outlook Thunderstorms Late Sunday
Last night severe weather including at least 1 confirmed tornado moved across parts of Southern New Jersey as a cold front passes through the area. This front is now long gone offshore. The upper trough that is driving today’s weather will be moving through around midday. We can see clouds to the west that will be moving through from mid morning to mid afternoon. There is the outside chance of a spot shower with this. Overall today lets call it a mix of sun and clouds as we go from sun to midday clouds and then back to sunshine later this afternoon. Gusty winds will be going on all day from the northwest, at times 25 to 30 mph. Temperatures will be in the 70s. Skies clear out nicely tonight and then it is on to a very nice Saturday.

Saturday is going to be a nice sunny day with low humidity and highs reaching the upper 70s and lower 80s in most places. There are no issues at all for Saturday. We will be transitioning over to higher humidity with some clouds Saturday night. Sunday Father’s Day we are still looking for a mix of sun and clouds. Most of Father’s Day will be fine though it will be very warm and more humid with highs in the 80s. Late Sunday a frontal boundary gets close and we could see some scattered showers and thunderstorms. More numerous showers and thunderstorms could be around Sunday night. The vast majority of the time this weekend it will be rain free and that includes Father’s Day.
The first front basically falls apart on top of us and a second low to the west in Illinois Sunday evening heads our way for late Monday. Very warm humid conditions continue Monday with thunderstorms likely Monday evening. Highs again will be in the 80s. Once that front passes we will be into a cooler pattern for much of next week with a frontal boundary to our south. This means there will be opportunities for showers later next week. The weather pattern does not favor long stretches of heat (widespread 90 degrees or higher) and humidity and we don’t see this happening anytime soon.
