Dry Through Much of Sunday Showers Possible Monday,
Then Cool Delightful Tuesday-Friday
The weekend is underway and for the most part it should be a good one. We have what is left of the the dry air in the wake of Hurricane Erin and that puts us in a place of sunshine and reasonable humidity today. Temperatures this afternoon will be generally in the lower 80s with 70s at the beaches. Winds remain mostly onshore from the south but humidity levels will be reasonable today. Also shore conditions are improving today though some rough surf and rip currents remain an issue.

WEATHER RADAR
Most lows tonight will be in the upper 50s inland and 60s everywhere else. Some low cloud might develop overnight in some areas. Sunday we have a cold front that will be approaching from the west but that front will get hung up along and west of Interstate 81 in New York State and Pennsylvania. Showers and a few thunderstorms will likely get no further east during the day Sunday into Sunday night.
This will leave Sunday as a dry day but humidity levels will be rising so it will be a bit more uncomfortable. We will probably see no worse than partly sunny skies. Most highs will be again in the lower 80s with 70s at the beaches. The front is going to start moving eastward again Sunday but moisture with the front seems to be very limited.
It also helps that low pressure develops off the Southeast US coast and we also might have a new tropical storm near the longitude of Bermuda. Once these systems play through the front will be allowed to pass. Monday we think will be cloudy to partly sunny with the risk for a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the low to middle 80s.
Much cooler and drier air will start to arrive later Monday and basically overwhelm the entire Eastern and even the Southern US with below average temperatures and and dry conditions for all of next week. This means day time highs will generally be in the 70s each day starting Tuesday and lasting through Friday. Most nights will be cool with lows in the 50s inland and near 60 or so warmer urban areas and the coast. Humidity levels will be very low all week and other than a few instability showers Tuesday well inland, we will be rain free at least through Friday.
