Dry Chilly Into The Weekend Next Storm Takes Southern Route
A winter chill of dry air has taken over in the Northeast and Middle Atlantic states. Chilly it is but from the stand point of cold we are just experiencing average temperatures for this time of year and that will continue probably right through the weekend. Low pressure continues to sit to our east out in the ocean and as the low strengthens tonight and Wednesday the wind will pick up a bit. Skies tonight should be partially clear with temperatures by morning will bottom in the mid 20s to lower 30s. Radar is showing some rain and snow showers backing westward into Cape Cod from the ocean storm but that precipitation will not back southwestward.
SATELLITE
Wednesday will see some sun and clouds with a breeze from the northwest. Temperatures will top in the upper 30s to around 40 degrees or so and then head down into the 20s to near 30 by Thursday morning. Sunshine with a few high clouds are forecast for Thursday and Friday. Highs both days will be again in the upper 30s to near 40.
A storm will be moving across the deep south and thanks to the strong blocking in the North Atlantic, this low will be passing out to sea well to our south. It will hover bring snow in parts of North Georgia, Western North Carolina into Southern Virginia. The block keeps this low from moving northward so we remain dry and chilly for the weekend. Next week there will be chances for storm systems to develop and possibly impact the Eastern US but that will depend on the strength of the block.
