Downpours Thunderstorms Localized Flooding Possible

We have finally reached what should be the last day of downpours and thunderstorms. Yesterday’s rains left over 1/2 a foot of rain in parts of Coastal New Jersey and a large area in Eastern Pennsylvania. Finally today we are seeing the upper air system responsible for all this beginning its move to the east. The clouds are rotating around the upper low in a counter clockwise fashion on the satellite loop. Today;s downpours are concentrated on the north and west side of the upper low in Central Pennsylvania. Later today we will see downpours and thunderstorms break out to the east side of the upper low. Until then we should see some sunshine this morning in most places as temperatures make a run into the 80s.

Look for downpours and thunderstorms to start developing late this morning and they will continue to break out during the afternoon and evening. Localized flooding is possible especially if we get any thunderstorm clusters to hover over one particularl area. All are at risk today as has been the case every day in this stretch but not everyone will see heavy rains.

Weather conditions will improve tonight as skies eventually clear out. The next 2 days will be rain free with sunshine. This will allow temperatures to climb to the upper 80s to near 90. Humidity levels will remain stubbornly high however.

Downpours Thunderstorms Localized Flooding Possible

Friday we will see the next weather system arrive from the west which will bring a chance for downpours and thunderstorms. It looks like the front might take its time moving through here with the chance for downpours and thunderstorms continuing on Saturday before we see improvement by Sunday. We might get a slight humidity break on Sunday with perhaps a more important break coming later next week but the jury is still out on this.

MANY THANKS TO TROPICAL TIDBITS FOR THE USE OF MAPS
