Cold Cloudy Saturday As Coastal Storm Moves Well East

A cold front had passed through earlier this morning and we are sitting in lots of clouds. Radar shows some light precipitation over parts of Central & Southern New Jersey in the form of some light rain with some sleet mixed in. It is cold this morning with temperatures in the mid 30s to near 40 this morning. With hardly any sun and the wind from the north, look for highs reaching only the low to mid 40s. We have to wait for a developing storm off the Carolina coast to move northeast and clear our coastaline overnight before skies completely clear which they will do before daybreak Sunday. A cold wind will develop with lows by morning in the upper 20s to middle 30s.

Sunday it is going to be breezy and cold with some sunshine but highs just in the 40s as high pressure builds in from the north. This is going to set us up for a very cold Sunday night into Monday morning with Monday morning lows in the mid 20s to lower 30s everywhere.

MONDAY MORNING FORECAST LOW TEMPERATURES

Cold Cloudy Saturday As Coastal Storm Moves Well East Weekend Storm Off The Table Showers Overnight Cold Weekend

Monday will be cold with increasing clouds. High temperatures this time of year should be in the upper 50s and lower 60s and we will be no where close to this. Highs just in the low to mid 40s which is just unreasonably cold for this time of year.

MONDAY’S FORECAST HIGH TEMPERATURES

Cold Cloudy Saturday As Coastal Storm Moves Well East

Weak low pressure moving into the Ohio Valley will redevelop to the southeast Monday night into Tuesday night. This is not going to do much because the support is so weak. A few passing showers will be it Monday night into Tuesday with highs in the 40s.

WHERE IS THE WARMER WEATHER?

Good question. Well we may have to settle for temperatures getting only back to average for this time of year and looking at the pattern later next week that could happen next weekend but I have to tell you that there could be another one of those warm front struggles over the area in which case we could be fighting for every precious degree. Much of this week will be relatively unsettled. No major storms are on the horizon but clouds are going to be an issue much of the time. There are also signs that blocking could return for the week of April 16th but that is something to be worked out in the longer range.
