Chance For Rain Overnight Into Saturday Morning Dry Into Tuesday Ahead of Thanksgiving

We have another one of these weak weather systems that will be moving through tonight into Saturday morning. Once again the upper air pattern suggests that this system, which looks impressive this morning on satellite and radars to the west will be weakened and suppressed once it arrives tonight. No rain is forecast during the dayside this Friday with sunshine giving way to arriving clouds. Those clouds are already advancing eastward as the satellite loop shows. Most highs today will be in the 50s while some warmer spots in Southern New Jersey could approach 60 degrees.

The evening will be dry but then we will get into some rain overnight and into the first part of Saturday morning. The low and the rain moves offshore and to the east during Saturday so once the rain comes to an end from west to east early to mid morning, weather conditions should improve with decreasing clouds Saturday afternoon. Most highs will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Skies should clear Saturday night as a slightly colder shot of air arrives in the northwest flow from Canada. Most lows Sunday morning will be in the mid 20s inland and lower 30s coast and warmer urban areas. Sunday will be a chilly day with no worse than partly sunny skies. High temperatures will be in the middle to upper 40s with perhaps a warm spot or two touching the 50 degree mark.

Next weekend ahead of Thanksgiving we will warm up some. Dry weather will continue into Tuesday before another cold front approaches and there is the chance for showers late Tuesday into early Wednesday. As long as the front doesn’t stall out, we should see improving weather conditions later Wednesday and a dry but cold Thanksgiving day as a cold high pressure area moves in. Travelers should note that we don’t see any major weather related travel headaches as major storms will be absent across much of the US.
