Bizzards In The West
For you Winter weather lovers here are a few videos of what is going on in the west where some areas are getting hammered. This is Boise Oklahoma in super white out conditions with heavy snow and howling winds.
We have this video of Taos, New Mexico which went from rain to heavy snow yesterday.
After checking the evening round of forecasts here is the latest forecast from Springfield Colorodo elevation over 4ooo ft. Maybe this will make you feel just a little bit cooler from today’s record highs.
All of this is going on while we here in the east have this to look forward to. Bermuda high conditions around Christmas!!!
Cold weather lovers at least have a 2 day or so reprieve to look ahead to next weekend. This map shows the temperatures at 7pm next Saturday. Actually the model shows these temperatures from Friday night right through Sunday morning.
Just remember this is going to be a short lived trip down to near normal temperatures. It will come with rain on Thursday as low pressure moves northward on a front. Once that low goes by the colder air should arrive. In the meantime temperatures Monday will be up at record levels yet again. Then Tuesday and Wednesday we go from 20 or more degrees above normal to 10 to 15 degrees above normal.
With regards to the rest of the month it seems that nothing barring a last minute sudden pattern reversal equivalent to a monumental explosion, this December will finish as the warmest December ever in the New York, New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New England area. As I pointed out in my December climate post back a week or so ago that not a single winter following the warmest 10 Decembers on record produced above normal snowfall. At best of the 10 winters only 4 got to within a few inches of normal. If this is going to be a snowier than normal winter it is going to have to be the first based on that single climate statistic. This is not a forecast I’m making but quite simply a food for thought observation. JOESTRADAMUS will have more on the long range shortly.
For ski resorts in the northeast, they will be on life support this Christmas with no snow on the ground anywhere in the northeast except maybe at the highest mountains in Northern Maine. If you are a skier you have got to go west.
RAIN FOR MONDAY LOOKS LESS IMPRESSIVE
