Below Average Temperatures & A Busy Wind Continue Through Friday
Showers Over The Weekend
Temperatures are set to bounce a little higher today and the wind will be a little less busy but still busy from the northwest. The flow from Canada continues as a series of weak disturbances move along in the flow. This is going to continue through Friday so temperatures will probably not bounce much higher from here. Highs today will reach the upper 40s and lower 50s which is still below average. Look for clouds and some sunshine along with the risk for a few sprinkles. We do see some activity on the regional radar however the precipitation is either on the light side or, due to the dry air, evaporates before reaching the ground.

WEATHER RADAR
As we mentioned earlier winds will still be on the gusty side through the end of the week but the gradient is a little looser so we expect to see gusts of 20 to 30 mph verses 30 to 40. Skies should at least partially clear tonight with most lows tonight in the 30s and the wind should keep things above freezing. Thursday looks to be another day of clouds and some sunshine but it will be chilly with highs in the upper 40s and lower 50s.
Most lows by Friday morning will be in the 30s along the coast with some 20s in colder inland locations. Friday will be a partly sunny breezy day as the northwest flow aloft continues. Once again temperatures will likely struggle somewhat and we expect most highs to reach the upper 40s and lower 50s.
The northwest flow aloft will strengthen again as another upper trough from Canada drops southeastward into the Northeast over the weekend and early next week. This will result in low pressure over the Great Lakes that will move eastward Saturday night and Sunday. A warm front will extend from the low south into Virginia and then it will move northward. We will see sunshine Saturday give way to arriving clouds as a result with highs back into the 50s.
A few showers will occur Saturday night into Sunday morning as the warm front tries to go by. Then the cold front approaches and we will probably see some more showers during the day Sunday. Rainfall from this is not expected to be anything to write home about. A tenth to a quarter inch seems doable. Temperatures Sunday could reach the upper 50s to some lower 60s before the cold front passes. We will see a shot of colder air Sunday night into Monday but this is not going to be anything like the previous airmass. Monday highs will be in the 40s. The fast flow continues next week with weather systems moving through every 2 or 3 days with temperatures coming back to average for this time of year.
