Beautiful Weekend Continues Sunday Labor Day No Rain Until Late Next Week

Our beautiful holiday weekend of weather continues for Sunday and Monday with no major issues other than some passing clouds. Certainly today was picture perfect with blue skies and sunshine with low humidity and our highs were in the pleasant 70s. You can look ahead to clear skies tonight with light winds and most lows will be in the mid 50s to lower 60s except for the warmer urban centers which will be around 65 or so. Sunday will be a repeat of today with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Our sateliite picture this evening shows mainly clear skies from Virginia to Southern New England. There are some clouds in upstate NY with a few showers and thunderstorms coming off Lake Erie and Lake Ontario but those showers are not coming here.

Our dry air mass and high pressure will move out to the east creating a flow from off the ocean but dry air will still remain with us for Monday, Labor Day. Look for no worse than partly sunny skies Monday with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Humidity levels will climb higher this week however all the action will be out in the Rockies and Plains where an early season “snow storm” will bring accumulating snows to areas from Montana to Colorado. Denver is hitting 100 degrees today and Sunday and Tuesday they will see snow with temperatures not out of the 30s! Imagine what that must feel like to see a 70 degree temperature change over a period of 36 or so hours! This will be one of the earliest snowfalls ever for that part of the US.

Meanwhile here in the East the outlook remains the same. It will be warm and humid Tuesday through Friday. Some nighttime and early morning low clouds burn off to partly sunny skies. There will be the odd chance for a scattered downpour later in the weak but no widespread shower or thunderstorm activity is forecast until next weekend when a cold front finally is able to reach the coastline. Enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend!
