Beautiful Sunday Before Clouds Rain Return
Dry air has pushed the cloud line south this morning to Southern New Jersey west southwest through Maryland making for a very nice Sunday ahead. We will enjoy sunshine today all day long. The dry air mass covers New England back to the Great Lakes. There are no weather issues whatsover today so enjoy it because weather conditions will deteroriate on Monday. Skies should start clear tonight before clouds begin to advance back northward over night. Temperatures today will be in the 60s and then lows tonight will be in the 40s to around 50.

You can see the rain on the regional radar view in Western North Carolina This is the beginning of low pressure that will develop off the Southeast coast of the US and head northward. Weather models haven’t changed too much on this overnight. We will see rain develop Monday afternoon across Central & Southern New Jersey and Southern Pennsylvania and then spreading northward to Northern New Jersey, New York City and Southern New England by Monday evening. There will probably be two surges of rain with a break in between later Monday night into early Tuesday.
NAM FORECAST RAINFALL THROUGH WEDNESDAY
The storm system will be weakening as it moves north so that rainfall amounts will not be anything excessive. We are still forecasting about an inch on average with some places higher and some lower. Today’s NAM model is the most bullish of all the models with regards to total rain forecasting amounts up to 2 inches. Im going to be a little conservative on the rainfall forecast at the moment. Notice the big rains for the Carolinas with some 6 inch plus rainfalls likely. This is because the storm system will weaken as it moves northward and reducing the rain totals. Once this system moves out we will begin slow improvement on Wednesday and warmer weather is coming for the end of the week.
