Beautiful September Weather Continues Minor Cloud Issues Wednesday
What an absolutely fabulous day of weather it was! We had wall to wall sunshine with hardly a cloud in the sky. Temperatures today topped out in the 70s. We had a nice northerly breeze all day at about 10 to 15 mph. Think back to those long stretches of days in the spring with nothing but clouds and this is the payback in September when the weather is dry and relatively uneventful most of the time.
Tonight will be mostly clear and it will be quite cool. Most lows will be in the 50s however cool spots inland away from warmer urban centers will bottom in the upper 40s as well as pine barrens in New Jersey and Long Island. During the early morning hours some ocean clouds might move in to some of the coastal counties but it should be no worse than partly sunny on Wednesday and mostly sunny inland. Right now we see clouds in Northern New England as well as Virginia into North Carolina. We are in the sweet spot in between.
Wednesday we will see cool air draining southward on northeast winds from high pressure off the coast of Northern New England. HIghs will be in the upper 60s to some lower 70s inland. Another cool night lies head for Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Thursday will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
There are no changes in the forecast for Friday and the weekend. This actually could be a very good beach weekend for the last weekend of the summer season. Friday through Sunday should be partly to mostly sunny. Friday’s highs will be in the mid 70s to near 80. Saturday and Sunday highs will be in the low to mid 80s. It is a great way to finish off the summer
