Heatwave Begins Friday
A beautiful dry air mass has built into the Northeast and will be the dominant weather player through Wednesday. We have blue skies and sunshine right now. Temperatures will top in the 80s. Humidity will be low. This is the best kind of weather in mid July.
We should see a clear night with temperatures in the comfortable 60s and some 50s in cool spots. Wednesday looks bright sunny and dry with temperatures in the 80s.
Radars are clear and quiet with no showers to speak of anywhere. This should remain the case into Thursday when temperatures will begin to rise again and the humidity begins to creep up.

While a few odd spots might see 90 on Thursday, Friday will be much like yesterday with highs in the low to mid 90s with higher humidity. An approaching front will trigger off some late day and evening thunderstorms and of course there is always the chance some storms could be severe. Then behind the front the air is not cool at all. In fact it is going to turn very hot over the weekend with highs Saturday in the middle 90s. Sunday and Monday we could see temperatures approach 100 degrees in some places anywhere from the Middle Atlantic States northeastward to Southern New England.
